Yamaha racing maintain strong positions at A4DE

Yamaha Motor Australia press release:

Yamaha Racing currently hold down positions 2-3-4 Outright after day two of the 2016 Australian Four Day Enduro (A4DE) wrapped up late this afternoon, in Mansfield Victoria.

The impressive outright positions are also backed up with plenty of class success with Josh Green leading the E1 (250cc) on his WR250F, Dylan Rees leading the Vets and the women’s class is all blue with Tayla Jones leading the way.

Four time champ, Daniel Milner sits in second place outright on his WR450F, just 15 seconds behind club house leader, Mathias Bellino. Milner, struggled in two of the nine tests ran on day two allowing Bellino to close the gap and edge ahead at the half way point but the Victorian is confident he can clean up his small mistakes and make a charge for the lead on day three.

Josh Green has put himself in an outstanding position, sitting third outright after day two and mounted on a 250cc machine, some 200cc less than his main rivals. Green’s day was highlighted by a test win and with just 20 seconds separating Green from the lead, it’s headed for a tight finish on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Hollis continues to perform well and again was extremely consistent throughout day two. He sits in fourth place outright, third in the E2 class, and is confident he can keep the momentum going into the final two days.

Dylan Rees is just over a minute ahead of his nearest rivals in the Vets class and is feeling good on the bike. With experienced competitors like Damien Smith and Kirk Hutton behind him, he will still need to be at his best to take the class win but he has put himself in the perfect position at the half way point.

The Women’s class is all Yamaha with the top four riders all on blue bikes. Tayla Jones stamped here authority on the class and stretched her lead during the day to just over three minutes back to Jemma Wilson and then Jess Gardiner.

Day three gets underway in the morning and often scene as the championship winning day where the heavy hitters make their move. With Milner, Green and Hollis all in contention for the outright win as well as Rees, Jones looking good for a class win, the event is shaping up to be very exciting for Yamaha.
