Former freestyle motocross (FMX) world champion Levi Sherwood has confirmed his entry for the Monster Energy Best Trick contest that will run alongside Sydney’s AUS-X Open inside Qudos Bank Arena on 12-13 November.

Sherwood, who is renowned for his incredible extension on tricks, will endeavour to take his share of the $120,000 prize pool that the prestigious event is offering over the two nights.

The New Zealander expressed his excitement of competing in the event, stating he is equally as excited to watch the headlining international supercross race that will also take place in the arena.

“I can’t wait to compete at the 2016 AUS-X Open! I’m so excited to be competing in such a high calibre event that is so close to home. It’s going to be awesome to be able to ride at the same event as guys like RV [Ryan Villopoto], [Chad] Reed, [Cooper] Webb and our FMX boys. I’m just as much of a super fan of supercross as the people turning up to watch the event.”

“Best Trick is the gnarliest FMX contest – the reason being is that you’re putting all your eggs in one basket and more than likely attempting a trick you haven’t done to dirt before. That’s why there’s always an incredible hype surrounding the contest.”

Sherwood will be joined by leading FMX athletes Clinton Moore, Jackson Strong and Tom Pages. Further rider announcements are expected to be made over the next week.
