AUS-X Open press release:
With the 2016 AUS-X Open event less than two weeks away, much-anticipated elements surrounding the race circuit are beginning to be announced, with the unique ‘shortcut’ lane set to return for this year’s event.
The lane will be titled the ‘Shannons Shortcut’ for 2016, courtesy of leading motorcycle insurer – Shannons Insurance.
Three-time Australian Supercross Champion – Dan Reardon, is a big advocate for the ‘Shannons Shortcut’ lane, explaining that the introduced element of strategy makes the racing all the more exciting. “Having the Shannons Shortcut at the 2016 AUS-X Open is absolutely awesome.
Motorsport fans can see how much a bit of strategy can shake things up in the V8 Supercar Championship – which always creates for incredible excitement – so to integrate a piece of that into the sport of supercross is great, and just another reason why the AUS-X Open is a one-of-a-kind event,” concluded Reardon.
Shannon’s new partnership with the AUS-X Open emphasises the brand’s commitment to Australian motorcycling, via one of it’s marquee events.
“The involvement from Shannons Insurance this year is fantastic and really illuminates their passion for motorcycles and competition in general,” commented AUS-X Open director – Adam Bailey.
“We’re thrilled to have them on board, and are anticipating some incredible moments of racing to happen through the Shannons Shortcut.
Offering riders a once per race ‘shortcut’ opportunity is unique to the AUS-X Open and isn’t used anywhere else in the world. Last year it made for some amazing side-by-side racing and given the immense depth of competition for this year’s event – it is going to shake up the racing even further. We can’t wait to see what happens!” concluded Bailey.
The AUS-X Open is the largest and most prestigious action sports event in the Southern Hemisphere. Some of the world’s most anticipated supercross rivalries will ignite on the race track, whilst the bravest riders on the planet attempt the most impossible stunts in the Monster Energy FMX Best Trick competition. It will be an absolutely un-missable experience for all ages, all under the one roof.
The AUS-X Open kicks off at Qudos Bank Arena (formerly AllPhones) on November 12 & 13. Tickets start at $40, and with Saturday night’s event SOLD OUT, Sunday tickets are selling very quickly. Book via this link today: http://bit.ly/1VhJqtg
