Honda Genuine Racing prepared for round three of the Australian Supercross Championship
Honda Genuine Racing press release:
Justin Brayton has covered all bases in his preparation for the third round of the Australian Supercross Championships in Adelaide this weekend.
“We have maintained a solid training and testing program since Toowoomba. The Honda CRF450R has been flawless and I am starting to get really comfortable” said Brayton.
Brayton only took possession of his Honda CRF450R days before the first round, which required all of his experience just to be ready when the gate dropped. Despite two wins from as many starts, Brayton has been working tirelessly with Honda America, Showa and Honda Australia to find the best settings to optimise performance. Consequently, Team Manager Steve Powell believes fans are yet to witness Brayton at his absolute best.
“Justin has adapted very quickly when you consider the limited time he has had on the bike. We are excited with his wins in the first two rounds; however, I don’t believe he has reached his full potential. We have continued to make small changes to the motorcycle to make him comfortable and we have seen improvements ahead of this weekend.”
The team recently recruited Australian Champion Luke Clout, following the untimely retirement of Jimmy Decotis after he was concussed in Round Two. Clout has been busy testing with the team ahead of this coming weekend and is realistic about his expectations.
“The team, the bike and everyone involved has been amazing. I feel very comfortable with the bike and the people I have around me. I am going into this weekend with no expectations. I will regroup following first practice and create a plan for qualifying and the races.”
The teams second 450 rider, Adam Enticknap is pushing for a top five result and is happy with his progress.
“We are definitely getting there. The team and I want to be inside in the top six every weekend from here forward and I believe that’s a realistic goal. I need to focus on my starts and passing lapped riders with more conviction” said Enticknap.
The team will arrive in Adelaide for press day on Thursday 27th and will spend Friday sightseeing ahead of the action packed event on Saturday night.
