Victorian privateer Geran Stapleton started the night strong finishing his heat in third, to then back up his result in the 15-lap main event. Josh Cachia (Penrite Honda Racing) – SX2, sixth:
There was a lot of anticipation of where Josh Cachia would sit amongst the field after two years off racing, and a second place finish in the first heat of the night was a clear indicator that he still has the pace. The colourful character put together a sensible race to collect sixth position in the main, narrowly missing out on the top five.
