Motorcycling Australia (MA) has announced the 2015 International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) team will be presented their first place trophies this weekend at rounds seven and eight of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship in Hedley, Victoria.

Following a dispute at the event last year in Kosice, Slovakia, the Australian team were denied being awarded their trophies and medallions until officially being declared as the victors in November.

France was initially awarded the World (Senior) Trophy win after being reinstated from a previous disqualification, however upon further investigation, the French team was stripped of their victory.

The announcement resulted in Australia taking home victories in the Senior, Junior and Women’s categories, clean-sweeping the prestigious international off-road event. MA’s off-road coordinator Mathew Falvo stated his relief of being able to present the team with their trophies over 10 months after the event.

“It will be great to finally be able to present the Senior, Junior and Women’s Trophy teams with their trophies after a hard-fought battle in Slovakia,” he said. “I am sure all the team members will be happy to receive their trophies and will now be able to switch their attention to this year’s ISDE where they will be looking to defend their titles.”

The 2016 ISDE will take place in Navarra, Spain, from 11-16 October. The Australian team’s participation was confirmed earlier this month despite a lack of government funding, once again targeting title wins across the board.
