Our first take of the brand new Shift WHIT3 Tarmac offering.
The 2017 Shift WHIT3 Label Tarmac Gear Set combines simple construction with quality fabrics and unique graphic techniques. The WHIT3 Label product sets out to eviscerate former expectations of what you ‘can’t’ do with one hundred dollars. On arrival to the 2017 Kawasaki KX250F launch at Ride Park in Victoria, we were greeted with a fresh set of WHIT3 Label Tarmac gear in the white colourway.
First impressions in the looks department? Awesome. The minimalistic design and crisp colours looked great on track against the dark soil at Ride Park aboard the all-new Kawasaki. We all know looks won’t make you ride any faster, but it goes without saying that we’re all looking for the most fresh and stylish set up out there – Shift’s WHIT3 Label Tarmac design gave us just that.
The WHIT3 Label Tarmac jersey and pants both fit perfectly, the sizing is right on the money for me. For 2017 the fit of the pant feels slightly larger in the waist in comparison to the previous model and the leg region remains the same in my opinion. The cut of the jersey and the drop tail ensure maximum comfort at all times and the jersey tail stays tucked in with ease.
Out on track I was super-impressed with the comfort level of Shift’s WHIT3 Label product. Being their lower price-point gear, it’s thoroughly impressive to see just how good it is. It could be priced higher and nobody, including myself, would have any reason to complain – this is really good stuff. Paired with the WHIT3 Air glove to cap it off, it was all smiles from me throughout the day.
Overall the 2017 Shift WHIT3 Label Tarmac gear set has left a very positive impression after just a couple of hours on track. Coming in at a recommended retail price of just $39.95 for the jersey, $119.95 for the pant and $34.95 for the glove, this gear screams value for money and looks the part on track.
