Ongoing health issues force former national champion out of WA event.
CDR Yamaha’s Dan Reardon will miss this weekend’s Wanneroo Motul MX Nationals event due to the effects of a virus that forced him out of the final MX1 moto in Murray Bridge last Sunday.
The RACESAFE medical team deemed Reardon unfit to race the second 30-minute after his blood pressure dropped and his heart rate shot up following moto one.
With the three 20-minute motos set for the deep sands of Wanneroo, one of the most physically demanding circuits on the MX Nationals tour, CDR Yamaha owner Craig Dack believes sitting Reardon out of the event is the correct choice.
“It’s disappointing Dan won’t be on the start line this week in WA but we feel it’s the best decision for both himself and the team,” said Dack. “Motocross is a tough sport and with Dan’s current health situation, sending him out to race wouldn’t be in his best interests.”
Reardon will make his return to the Motul MX Nationals when the series resumes following the mid-season break at Nowra in New South Wales on 3 July.
