Raceline Pirelli KTM press release:
Raceline Pirelli KTM are preparing to make the long trip to South Australia for round four of the MX Nationals being held at Murray Bridge this Sunday May 22.
After a successful but muddy outing at round three, both MX2 and MXD riders Dylan Wills and Wade Kirkland are feeling refreshed after a three week break from racing, and will be looking to put their KTM machines at the top of the result sheets this coming weekend.
For Kirkland who achieved his first ever senior overall podium at Broadford, Murray Bridge provides another opportunity to up his results once again, and shared that he’ll be looking to carry his positive momentum into round four.
“It felt awesome to come away from Broadford with my first ever senior round podium, and for me the goal this weekend will be to do the same thing,” he said.
“I’m really going to work on putting two consistent motos together this weekend. I’m still learning the tracks and how things work at the MX Nationals, but with a few solid rounds under my belt I’m hoping that we can improve even further at Murray Bridge.
“If we can do what we did at Broadford in South Australia, it should be a positive round for myself and the team.”
For Wills, the additional time between round three and four has proved to be beneficial, and shared that by focussing on his areas that require improvement, he’s feeling confident ahead of Murray Bridge.
“The three weeks between races has been good for me – I’ve gotten some super productive sessions in on and off the dirt bike,” he said.
“I’ve focused a lot on what I think my weak points are, and I have seen progress. Being on a race track is obviously completely different to practicing, but once I put it together like I have been on the practice tracks I know I’ll be there.
“Hopefully it all comes together this weekend, but once again the goals are the same. Two solid finishes and some good points and we will leave smiling!”
