American future confirmed for world motocross MX2 star.

Dylan Ferrandis has commented publicly for the first time on speculation linking him with a move to the Star Racing Yamaha team for the 2017 American supercross and motocross championships.
The 21 year old confirmed that he will leave MX2 after three injury-interrupted seasons (five in total) but also a stint in which he was one of the few who could match powerhouse Jeffrey Herlings for speed and competitiveness.
Star could be losing principal athletes and champions Cooper Webb as well as Jeremy Martin for next season although no official announcements have been made in America. Ferrandis says he already has a slot with the title-winning outfit and for what will be the first major change of brand in his pro career.
“It is not too early [to talk about next year] and I think everybody knows,” said Ferrandis. “I will race for Star Racing in the AMA series and I still don’t know if it will be east or west coast for the next two years.
“I’m really happy and now I had the injury and the championship is out for me I am ready to go to the U.S. It is something I have wanted to do for many years but it is a big choice and it is difficult to leave the family, friends and your country but it what I wanted since I was very young.
“I waited for three years because I wanted to fight for the MX2 title and expected the championship to go better and better. I don’t like the tracks much in Europe so that is one reason to go to the US and I also like supercross.”
