Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey scored a season-high ninth win of the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium.

Dungey overcome treacherous muddy conditions for the victory, over 10 seconds clear of Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) and Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Kawasaki).

The ninth win for Dungey this season set a new career-best mark, and signified his 31st career 450SX Class victory. He completed the season with 16 podium finishes in 17 races, highlighted by a 31-race podium streak that dated back to last season.

“We really focused on the last couple races of the season to get the championship,” Dungey said. “We wanted to end the season strong and that was the goal tonight. “These were definitely the toughest conditions of the season.

“Ken [Roczen] was putting on a charge and riding well, but he made a mistake and I had nowhere to go. Thankfully I was able to get up and get going again, and finish strong. I’m really glad we came out on top tonight.”

Despite a season-worst 20th-place finish after crashing out of the lead, RCH Racing Suzuki’s Roczen secured the runner-up spot in the final championship standings and Anderson completed a breakout season with third.

Australian Chad Reed (Monster Energy/360fly/Chaparral/Yamaha) was fourth in the main event after climbing through the order during the race, ending up fifth in the championship overall.

In the combined Western/Eastern Regional 250SX main event it was Joey Savatgy (Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki) who dominated in the conditions, winning from Zach Osbourne (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) and Malcolm Stewart (GEICO Honda).

Third over the finish was enough for Stewart to clinch the East Coast crown, with defending West Coast champion Cooper Webb (Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha) just hanging onto his title as he crossed the line in a lowly 11th.
