KTM Motocross Racing Team’s Luke Styke has been injured upon return to riding just a fortnight away from the 2016 Motul MX Nationals opening round at Horsham, Victoria, on 3 April.

Styke suffered a a grade three full rupture of the Achilles tendon during the last November’s AUS-X Open in Sydney, which sidelined him until he returned to riding last week.

However KTM Australia has confirmed that the 2013 national MX2 champion has been struck with further Achilles complications during initial preparations on board the factory-backed 450 SX-F.

It’s understood Styke will soon see a specialist to gain further information on the extent of his renewed injury, which will then determine when he will be able to resume riding and racing once again.

Styke was fourth in the 2015 MX Nationals MX1 title race as a rookie, winning the Broadford round overall, following a single season in Europe the year prior contesting the MX2 World Championship.
