DPH walk away with three from three at final round

DPH Peter Stevens Yamaha press release:

It was all smiles for the DPH Motorsports team over the weekend at the 6th and final round of the Australia Super-X Championship with all three riders walking away with a position on the podium. The day started off with our Victorian women’s rider Maddy Brown competing in the first and only round of the women’s Super-X Championship, which she took out with great ease.

Maddy has had a stella year walking away with a number of 1st place positions including the Women’s MX Nationals Title.

DPH 250cc rider Wade Hunter has gone from strength to strength this season, proving each and every round why he deserves to be on the podium and round 6 was no different. Wade started off the day qualifying 3rd then placed 4th in his heat race. After a small incident at round five, Wade spent the week resting to ensure his body was in top form the main event, and he didn’t disappoint.

“It was a good weekend for me, I had some time off the bike due to injury and wasn’t feeling to confident so it was good to come away with second. It feels pretty good to come away from the season with two second place finishes in a row!” said Hunter.

After a number of position changes, Wade battled hard with a number of riders including Jackson Richardson (1st) to take out 2nd on the night, resulting in him round out the top five in 5th for the Championship.

It has also been an impressive season for 450cc rider Lawson Bopping who was determined to cement his name as one of the countries best and he has surely succeeded. Lawson placed 2nd in qualifying in addition to also placing 2nd in his heat. Sick of always being the bridesmaid, Lawson went into the main event more determined then ever and the sheer speed at which he was riding was a hot topic amongst many spectators.

“Round six was a good one for me and a good way to end the year. I’m really pumped with the team and how my bike felt out there on the night” said Bopping.

Lawson not only took out 1st place on the night but also rounded out the top three in third position for the Championship (behind fellow Yamaha riders Daniel Reardon and Kade Mosig).

DPH Motorsports will take a much deserved break before heading into the opening round of the Australian MX Nationals Series in April 2016.
