Adam Monea sidelined after AUS-X Open crash

Kawasaki Motors Australia press release:

Kawasaki Motors Australia regret to announce that factory Motocross and Supercross rider, Adam Monea, has sustained serious injuries after a crash in round five of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship.

Adam Monea will sit out the final round of the Australian Supercross Championship as he recovers from his injuries which include a fractured wrist and possible ligament damage in his other wrist and ankle.

Team Manager and Australian Motocross Legend, Troy Carroll, said, “Adam was riding so well and the team was confident that we were in for a podium. The crash happened during Qualifying. Adam over-jumped a section and to be honest we expected worse because it was a really big cash,” Troy commented.

“Adam will be released from hospital today after the surgery on his wrist that he received yesterday and he will be having his other wrist and ankle checked out for suspected ligament damage in due course.”

“The NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team won’t be in attendance at the last round of the Supercross as it is too late in the season to find a suitable rider. Moving forward, we are excited to begin preparing for the upcoming Motocross season,” Troy said.

Kawasaki Motors Australia and the NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team are wishing Adam a swift recovery and we are confident that he will quickly return to take his rightful place amongst Australia’s greatest Motocross and Supercross racers.
