Luke Styke (KTM Motocross Racing Team) – 8th overall:
Not too bad tonight. We’re riding a lot better than we did in the first two rounds. I qualified better and I felt comfortable with the bike. I was in a comfortable second and everything was working, but I just got baulked a little bit and my back wheel got clipped a little bit on this section and I came up short. I kind of collapsed on my handlebars and it winded me badly; took me eight laps to get my breath back. My eyes were watering and everything, everyone was just smashing me on the inside – I was pretty wounded. After I pulled off I was throwing up and stuff, just hating life! There were some positives for us here, but obviously the results could have been so much better, I’d put myself in a podium position. I’ve put a lot of seat time in on the new bike, that’s all it really is. I feel I’ve got a good combo now, I’ve just got to put myself in that good position again and don’t mess it up!
Daniel Reardon (CDR Yamaha) – 1st overall:
How cool was that? It’s been a while since we have had a main event like that where five riders could win it and it was still up for grabs on the final lap. I could hear the crowd the whole time and with Metty being a South Australian, it made for an awesome atmosphere to race in. This one means a lot as it wasn’t a gift, I had to earn it over some really talented riders and for the full length of the race. This is the reason why we put in the yard work and I’m so happy it paid off tonight. Thank you to the people of Adelaide for coming and making such a great event and also to the CDR Yamaha team as we have the best bike on the track at the moment and things have really come together lately.
Kade Mosig (CDR Yamaha) – 4th overall:
While I always aim to win, tonight was a good race for me and another step in the right direction. Every round I have improved and tonight was the closest I have been to the lead group and if I can just hold my own in the opening laps when the hustle and bustle is on, I think I will make the podium. It was also good that I was able to get past Adam at the end of the race and show my fitness is right where it needs to be and I’m good for the full 20 laps. My mechanic Mike and the whole CDR Yamaha team have put in a huge effort for this supercross championship, so thank you to my team and our sponsors.
Adam Monea (NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki) – 5th overall:
Had a great weekend overall. The holeshot was a highlight and to finish in fifth for the main event wasn’t ideal but it will have to do. I can bang bars with the boys up front which I proved in the last round and now I’m just looking ahead for another podium in the next round.
Dylan Long (NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki) – DNF:
I crashed out and knocked myself silly! Went to hospital and I’m a bit tender but I’m all good though.
Matt Moss (Team Motul Suzuki) – 3rd overall:
That was some good racing out there tonight and the three of us out front separated ourselves from the field quite a bit. A third place is good and keeps us in the championship hunt, but I am a racer and want nothing less then to keep that number one plate at the end of the year and stand on the stop step of the podium each week. We have a three week break now before we head back to Jimboomba so we will just put our heads down and work hard in the break and come out swinging at the next round. I have to give a huge shout out to Jay and Jess Foreman along with the whole Motul Suzuki team tonight. There was a bit of damage after the pile up in heat two earlier today and as always they had everything ready to go when the gate dropped on the main event.
Gavin Faith (Penrite Honda) – DNF:
I got a good jump off the start and felt comfortable in third. I didn’t see Matt Moss behind and wasn’t prepared for him taking me off the track the way he did. I was completely caught off guard. When I got back up the bike was twisted and there was a misfire. To be honest I have felt a little off since Jimboomba. I will take a few days to recover and will make some changes to my program before Round 4 to try and get back on top.
Brett Metcalfe (SD3 Husqvarna) – 2nd overall:
I’m really happy with today. I haven’t been here since I was seven, and I haven’t raced here since ’99, so for me it was just awesome to relive old memories. It was a pretty cool day. As far as the racing, I was extremely happy all day with the SD3 Husqvarna, it ran great through practice and qualifying. The times were good; we were there on the bubble all day. The heat racing didn’t go so well, I had some bad starts and actually ended up twisting my knee a little bit, so I had to take care of that. But going into the main event the track really shaped up nice and it was a good track for racing tonight. I didn’t get a good start, but I was pretty much mid pack and chipped away and chipped away, and was able to move up to the top three. I worked on Moss and was able to get by Moss and then close the gap in to Reardon at the end there. Just to be that close after such limited time on a bike for supercross, I thought was awesome. And you know, the bike, I mean it is literally nearly a stock bike, I think that’s phenomenal and it says a lot for the machine, I think they should be proud of the new Husqvarna. It’s pretty cool.

Luke Clout (Serco Yamaha) – 2nd overall:
I’m satisfied with how I rode tonight. I wasn’t really happy with how things went at the previous round, so it was important to bounce back here in Adelaide and get a good result. I would love to have won but I gave it everything I had, Jimmy was just able to sneak by me near the end and hold his lead until the finish but I will take some confidence from this and know that I will be challenging him again at the next round.
Jed Beaton (Serco Yamaha)- DNF:
I got a good start and was in the top five when someone in front of me didn’t make one of the jumps cleanly and I jumped into the back of them. Because it was lap one and the field was close together, after I fell, I got hit a few times and as a result my hand and shoulder is pretty sore and my clutch lever and perch were broken on the bike. “I felt much better today and while this isn’t great, I know things are improving and this was just a racing incident.
Dylan Wills (KTM Newcastle) – 4th overall:
This is a big surprise after getting no bike time between last round and this round! I had a shoulder injury that took a bit of figuring out to get on top of, so to come out and do what I did here was bit of a surprise. I just enjoyed the track and had a good night and it all kind of clicked together. I finished fourth in the main and was probably just a little bit off the pace of the boys, but they didn’t pull much on me, so I was really stoked about that.
Luke Arbon (SD3 Husqvarna) – 5th overall:
It was good, I enjoyed it, and that’s what I came here to do. I’m not really happy with a fifth, but I was definitely happy to just ride my bike and have fun. The final started with good, got the holeshot and I led the first lap and was doing really good until I went to the inside and lost the front and fell off. I got back going again and worked my way back to fifth. I was just behind Willsy and was catching him, but then I got held up by a lapper and we just kind of stayed the same after that. The day and night here went awesome, they seemed to have a pretty massive crowd, so that was cool, and it definitely felt good to be in front of my hometown crowd, I had a lot of friends and family here, so it was cool. Brett and I were both under the same tent, so I definitely think we would have been one of the most popular pit tents during the autograph sessions. I’ve got two weekends off now and I know what I need to work on, so I’ll get to it and come out swinging for round four.
Jimmy Decotis (Penrite Honda) – 1st overall:
I rushed things in my heat race and made some mistakes. I had to work hard and come through in the final which is never ideal. My fitness really came into play tonight and I felt really strong at the end of the event, which helped to make a difference. To win three in a row is just awesome and I have to pay thanks to all the crew in the Penrite Honda Racing team for all the support they have given me, it’s just been awesome. I never expected to have three wins from three starts, the competition here is tough and they are keeping me honest.
Geran Stapleton (Wilson MX Penrite Honda) – 7th overall:
I’m pretty disappointed with the weekend to be honest, it’s not the result I was looking for. I felt good heading in to the round, but I had a guy ruin my heat race which gave me a really bad gate pick for the main. I got caught in a first turn pile up in the main, and after that it was just about salvaging points. It’s not the round I wanted to have, but I’ll just have to see what we can do at Jimboomba.
Jackson Richardson (Wilson MX Penrite Honda) – 3rd overall:
It felt good to be back on the podium again and to be there two rounds in a row is a big confidence booster. The bike was handling awesome all night and the track at Wayville ended up being quite technical, so a big shout out to the Wilson’s team for helping me out. We have a bit of a break now before round four, so I’ll work on a couple of things and just keep pushing towards that SX2 title.
Jake Williams (Wilson MX Penrite Honda) – 17th overall:
Well the best thing about the weekend was that the track and the bike were awesome, we have great equipment, it’s just me staying on that’s the issue. I’m not sure if it’s the lucky number 13 or my girly haircut, but I can’t seem to stay on the bike. I managed to salvage 17th even though I crashed at the end of the whoops which was better than my results at other rounds, so maybe at Jimboomba I can pull my finger out a bit.
Jesse Madden (Raceline Pirelli Suzuki) – 11th overall:
It was a bit of a tough weekend. I starting out struggling to find the flow of the track, but I managed to find a flow in the main event,” he said. “After a bad start in the main and a few hold ups ended up 11th, moving up into ninth in the championship so I’m stoked with that. I’m still in the game and I’m keen for the next round, so I can push further and hopefully get higher up in those championship standings. All in all though it was another weekend of progress and I’m happy I was able to get a consistent result for the team.
