Mcleary snatches up round three honors for Raceline Pirelli Suzuki

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki press release:

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki’s Brock Mcleary returned to the top step of the podium after a long hiatus on the weekend, when the third round of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship was hosted in Adelaide.

With a crowd of close to 8,000 in South Australia, the Raceline Pirelli Suzuki two-man squad of Mcleary and Jesse Madden had an audience on the weekend to say the least, putting on a show and leaving their mark on their respective classes.

With Mcleary going close to securing the SXD title in 2014, the youngster’s capabilities were confirmed on the weekend – edging out tough competition to conclude the night with the win in race one, and second in race two, handing him the round three SXD honors.

For team mate Madden, round three handed him another consistent result – securing a solid sixth place finish in his heat, before concluding the main event for the evening just outside the top ten, in 11th place.

Brock Mcleary – SXD – 1st Overall

“I’m really happy with how Saturday went down – I had a really good couple of weeks training since round one and was really happy with the progress myself and Raceline had made with the bike,” he said. “I felt confident going into Adelaide – I started off a little off the pace with second in qualifying and third in the heat, but turned it around with a holeshot and win in my first final. “The second final I had my work cut out for me with a terrible start, I battled my way through the pack and finished just off the leader in second. I was really happy with the way I rode in that race and I made up a few points in the championship, which is what I wanted to achieve. “I’m pumped to finally get an overall win again! I can’t thank the team and everyone that helps enough. We’re excited for the next round at Jimboomba”

Jesse Madden – SX2 – 11th Overall

“It was a bit of a tough weekend. I starting out struggling to find the flow of the track, but I managed to find a flow in the main event,” he said. “After a bad start in the main and a few hold ups ended up 11th, moving up into 9th in the championship so I’m stoked with that. “I’m still in the game, and I’m keen for the next round, so I can push further and hopefully get higher up in those championship standings. “All in all though it was another weekend of progress, and I’m happy I was able to get a consistent result for the team.”

Chris Woods – Raceline Pirelli Suzuki Team Manager

“Jesse had a bit of a rough start to the weekend, and we made a couple of changes to the bike and although it wasn’t his finest ride, he managed to move in to ninth in the championship so we’re very happy with that,” he said. “If it wasn’t for a small mistake in the main, I think Jesse could have even crept up to around tenth in the main, which again is a solid effort considering this is his first series in the lites class. “With Brock, he really had a great round from start to finish. “He qualified second and got third in the qualifying heat, then lead start to finish in the first final and fought pretty damn hard to get second in the second final. “Points wise, the two races were ideal in Brocks case. He managed to make up some solid championship points and we’re really excited to see what both of the boys can do at Jimboomba”.
