Suzuki Australia press release:
MX1 Australia Suzuki rider Wil Ruprecht has powered his way to a sensational podium result at the 2015 Australian Four Day Enduro held in Tasmania from the 21st to the 24th of October.
Aboard his Suzuki RM-Z250 Ruprecht kick started his 2015 A4DE campaign on the right foot, finishing the opening day of official competition in second position in E1 class.
The rider who earlier this year finished 3rd in the Australian Off Road Championships Under 19s class held a consistent pace during day’s two and three, before concluding the event with a 7th place moto in the final MX test.
The final result was a superb 3rd place finish in the highly competitive E1 competition behind Josh Green and Tye Simmonds and in another great boost for the young riders confidence a 12th place outright result in Australia’s biggest enduro event of the year.
“It was a great result for young Ruprecht, “MX1 Australia Suzuki team manager Trent Lean commented.” Wil had a great AORC series earlier this year fighting for the championship in the under 19 class and has once again showed he is a rider to watch with a third place in the E1 class in Tasmania at the four dayer.”
E2 team-mate Luka Bussa also had a strong showing at this years A4DE aboard the ADR compliant Suzuki RMX450. Finishing the opening day in 9th position, Bussa worked his way up the E2 and outright standings each day.
Finishing the final MX test with a 5th place finish, Bussa moved his way up in the final standings to 6th in class and 15th outright.
“Luka continued to get stronger the longer the event went on,” Lean explained. “The E2 class is always a tough class with the outright winner from this years event once again coming form the class.”
Lean himself had to make the tough decision to miss racing this years four day event after suffering an injury at the final round of the Off-Road Championships. It was the first time in 11 years that 2015 AORC Masters Champion and previous A4DE winner sat on the sidelines, however he did enjoy his time in the sole role of team manager.
“Unfortunately I had to sit this one out after having surgery on a finger that I injured at the final round of the AORC,” Lean expained. “It was certainly hard to watch from the sidelines, especially with the Tasmanian crew putting together a great event.
“In saying that, it was a great experience to take the sole role of Team manager and work with our two riders throughout the event.” Lean added. “It was a massive two weeks for us from start to finish, making our way to Tasmania then back home, but both riders put in a massive effort and I could not be more proud of them.”
“Both the Suzuki RM-Z250 and the RMX450 were rock solid and we could not have asked for any more out of the bikes.”
“After four days of racing that included some tough conditions at times we finished the event with not one single issue along the way, not event a bent lever!. “A massive thanks to Suzuki Australia, MX1 Australia and everyone who made not only this event possible, but the entire 2015 season.” Lean concluded.
