Unsung performers we spotted at Jimboomba on Saturday night.

MotoOnline.com.au highlights three standout performances from the weekend’s second round of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship at Jimboomba. Radar isn’t strictly about the winners, it’s about the unsung racers that we spot performing above expectations on any given race weekend.

Wade Hunter (DPH Peter Stevens Yamaha) – SX2, third overall:
We knew Queensland talent Wade Hunter would shine with added support from DPH Peter Stevens Yamaha in the remaining supercross rounds, but a podium on debut was more than we expected straight up. This is the type of opportunity that makes riders careers if they can perform, which Hunter did in his first appearance. It could be a platform of major things to come.

Geran Stapleton (Penrite Honda Wilson MX) – SX2, fifth overall:
There’s no surprise in seeing Geran Stapleton inside the top five of a supercross race. However consecutive fifth-place results are a good indication of his potential and it will be a good overall result for him in the series if he keeps this form up. A podium is well within reach at the coming rounds.

Jesse Madden (Raceline Pirelli Suzuki) – SX2, 10th overall:
After a decent outdoor campaign in MXD, it was still somewhat of a shock to see Jesse Madden step up to the SX2 ranks for supercross. So far, so good though, because he was 12th in the final at Bathurst and then improved for 10th at Jimboomba. Kids take a lot of confidence from feeling as though they ‘belong’ toward the front, which Madden certainly does.
