Rutledge takes two from two in Women's at Nowra

World class Kawasaki rider dominant at MX Nationals.

Kawasaki Australia press release:

Australian Women’s Motocross & Supercross Champion, Meghan Rutledge (Mad Meg), has blasted away her opponents aboard her Kawasaki KX250F at the final Women’s MX Nationals round over the weekend.

The Australian Women’s Motocross Championship series was held over two rounds within the MX Nationals this year. Unfortunately due to injuring her thumb and missing the first round, Megan was out of the running for the title.

This didn’t faze Meghan Rutledge of the Hitachi Mad Meg Race Team, who set the pace on her KX250F with the fastest lap in qualifying. She took the holeshot in the first moto and was untouchable with a lead of more than 2 seconds after the first lap. Meghan complimented her first race win with another effortless win in the second moto.

“I feel really good. Overall I had five months off the bike and I came back for the NSW state titles a few weeks ago. I got clearance on my thumb to ride last Friday so I’m pretty pumped to be out here on my Kawasaki and definitely super excited to have come first in both races. The track has chopped up a lot more than I thought it was going to after walking the track yesterday, “ commented Meghan.

“I came into the weekend with absolutely no preparation. To qualify first at the beginning of the day was a really good feeling. In the first race I got a holeshot and lead from start to finish. I built a really comfortable lead and just did what I had to do to win the race. I didn’t have the best start in the second moto. I regrouped and made some quick moves to gain the lead by the end of the first lap. Overall I’m really happy with my weekend. I went undefeated from qualifying to the first and second race,” Meghan said.
