Outright crown formed as new 2016 calendar is released.
The Enduro World Championship will receive an overhaul in 2016, with series organisers announcing in Belgium today that a new EnduroGP category will feature as the sport’s pinnacle title.
While the E1, E2 and E3 classes will remain, an outright EnduroGP championship featuring the sport’s top 16 riders will be the ultimate crown as of next season. Varying capacities will be eligible.
The selection process for riders eligible to participate in EnduroGP will be set out soon by the FIM Enduro Commission (CEN). It’s understood that next year’s world championship could include multiple formats including Extreme, Sprint and Cross Country competitoon.
With EnduroGP leading the way in 2016, EWC promoter ABC Communication has confirmed that E1, E2, E3, Junior, Youth and Women’s events will remain world championships.
