Aussie could exit 2015 series if unable to wear 360fly action camera.
Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports team owner/rider Chad Reed could quit the 2015 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series after he was denied to wear the product of new action camera sponsor, 360fly, at Thunder Valley.
Reed secured a lucrative 360fly ambassador agreement prior to round three of the championship last Saturday, but was unable to wear the camera due to promoter MX Sports’ exclusive arrangement with GoPro. The argument could see Reed withdraw from the 2015 series if compromise can’t be reached.
“This camera deal is worth more to me to stay at home than to race the races,” Reed told PulpMX in its post-race Pulpcast interviews. “If they don’t let me wear it then maybe this is it for me. It’s just bullshit.
“We race the Monster Energy Supercross and Ryan Dungey’s up there with a Red Bull can, all this kind of stuff you know; the FMF-sponsored outdoor series and PC, everybody else gets to run stuff. I get it, I don’t want content or anything like that, we just want visibility.”
The complete interview with Reed is available to listen to at this PulpMX link.
