The Glen Helen round of the MXGP World Championship has received a major boost, with KTM and Husqvarna confirming they will enter their factory US teams at the 2015 season-finale.

To be held on 20 September, the entire Red Bull KTM team of Ryan Dungey, Dean Wilson, Marvin Musquin and Justin Hill will headline the weekend’s entry list alongside the MXGP regulars.

KTM will have an additional presence in the final round with the US satellite teams of BTO Sports KTM and Troy Lee/Lucas Oil/KTM also entered.

Pit Beirer, KTM’s motorsport director, said it was a unique opportunity not only for the KTM teams, but also for the best riders in the sport to compete against each other in a top class competition setting.

“We are going to Glen Helen with all of our factory riders from the MXGP World Championship and the US motocross series,” Beirer said. “This will not only bring our own guys together in the true ‘Ready to Race” KTM tradition, it will also give them a chance to race alongside the world’s best.

“We want the last round of the season to be really memorable and we very much hope that other top factory teams from the US will take up the invitation and join us at Glen Helen.”

It’s also been confirmed by Husqvarna – a company of KTM – that the US-based Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team will join Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna Factory Racing and Wilvo Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing to contest final round of world championship.
