This weekend the MX Nationals will welcome women back to the track and play host to round one of the Yamaha Australian Women’s Motocross Championship at Broadford, Victoria.

After a long hiatus women will make their long-awaited return to the field on Sunday, 26 April, adding yet another aspect to the already action-packed 2015 program.

MX Nationals promoter Kevin Williams spoke of his excitement in welcoming back women and girls to round three and is looking forward to seeing the sport’s leading ladies show Australia what they’ve got.

“It’s great to see the women back at Australia’s premier Motocross series in 2015,” he said. “With so many women succeeding in our sport internationally, we are very pleased to be able to offer a platform like the MX Nationals, to showcase their talent here in Australia.

“We have had a great response to the Yamaha Australian Women’s motocross class and we are very impressed with the number of women heading out to Broadford this weekend to participate in round one of their two-round championship.

“The class wouldn’t have been able to return if it wasn’t for the support of longtime MX Nationals partner Yamaha Australia. So we are very grateful to have their backing for the Australian Women’s championship this year.

“There is a great depth of talent amongst the females of our sport, so fans and spectators will be in for a real treat when racing kicks off this weekend.”

The Yamaha Australian Women’s Motocross Championship will go head-to-head across two 15-minute races on Sunday, providing plenty of racing action for the athletes and fans alike.
