Penrite-supported privateer effort Wilson MX, will head to round two of the MX Nationals in Appin this weekend, searching for consistent results on board their Honda machines. After mixed results at round one of the series, MX2 pilots Luke Wilson and newest recruit Geran Stapleton, will look to step things up in New South Wales on Sunday.

For Stapleton, round one was about getting the feel for his brand new equipment and team, but explained that this weekend it’s all about chasing top five results. “Round one was a tough one for me, but heading into Appin this weekend I’m feeling really positive and confident,” he said.

“Now that I’ve got a feel for the bike and the team, I’m really going to be aiming for top five results, and hoping to put some solid points on the board. “I’m going to have a ride at the public track at Appin on Saturday and loosen up a bit, then on Sunday we should be ready to go.

“The bikes are looking awesome, and the team is doing a great job, it’s just going to be about putting in two solid races this weekend.” Wilson, who improved on his 2014 results at round one, spoke of his excitement about heading to Appin, and is looking forward to getting back to racing after two weeks of preparation.

“To be honest I felt like I didn’t have the best lead up heading into Horsham, and I probably could have trained a little bit harder,” he said. “Since round one, I’ve spent the last two weeks working really hard and putting in the training on and off the bike.

“I’ve recently been working with a new personal trainer Luke Whittaker, who is pushing me pretty hard so hopefully it pays off this weekend. “By the end of this round I want to be pushing for top ten results, so I just got to put my head down and get to work.”

The Wilson MX Team will head to Appin on April 12 for Round 2 of the MX Nationals. For spectator information head to www.mxnationals.com.au
