CDR Yamaha team owner Crag Dack has lauded the fighting spirit of his riders after the opening round of the MX Nationals was completed on the weekend at the challenging and rutted Horsham circuit, in Victoria.

The duo of Kade Mosig and Daniel Reardon proved to be up for the fight and worked tirelessly all day with Mosig pulling down a sensational second overall for the round while Reardon finished fifth in moto one before having to withdraw from moto two with a bike related issue.

“I was really proud of the way both guys raced, conducted themselves and their attitude to racing,” Dack states. “On the track, neither of them got great starts but both put in a huge effort and charged through the field in both motos, logging some of the fastest laps of the day. “They also treated the staff with respect and gave valuable insight into what’s happening on the track and with the bikes.

‘It was a great ride from Kade and his result was due to the committed effort he put in during the off season. Daniel was amazing in his return to racing and for a rider that has had so much time off the bike in recent years, I think the opposition would be very wary of just what he is capable of with a few more races under his belt,” Dack ends.Both riders started the day strongly and qualified for the Go Pro Superpole with Kade Mosig posting the second fastest lap and Reardon in at number five.

That good form continued into race one with both riders showing impressive track speed. Mosig was inside the top 10 at the start and got down to business as the 30 minute race went on. His charge carried him all the way to third place in a great start to the championship.

He backed that up with an even more impressive ride to second place in race two and his combined scores gave him second overall for the round in a great day for the Victorian based rider.

“Couldn’t be happier,” Mosig states. “The CDR Yamaha team have given me exactly what I required from the bike, to the people, to the support and I feel I’m in the best place of my career. The track wasn’t easy out there but my bike was working well and I was able to get on the podium at the opening round which is the goal of every rider in this race.

“We now move on to Appin and again the track surface and conditions can be very similar to Horsham so the goal is to keep getting on the podium at each round and build my championship points in the early going.”

Daniel Reardon hit the front early in moto one, only to tangle with another rider and stall the bike, losing valuable positions. He fired the YZ450F back up and then started picking off riders in front of him all the way until the end of the moto where he crossed the line in fifth place.

Moto two again saw Reardon well placed and confident of improving his opening moto result but the bike developed an intermittent misfire leaving Reardon with no option but to pull off the track.

“It’s good to be back at the races,” Reardon explains. “It’s only been a few seasons but a lot has changed in some regards but the adrenaline of being back on the start line is something you can replace in life.

“The day for me was pretty good. I rode well all day and the little bike issue was no one’s fault so I can take a lot of positive things from round one.

“Round two is in two weeks’ time but I would race tomorrow if they let me,” Reardon enthuses.
