Stapleton and Wilson ready to hit Horsham MX Nationals.
Wilson MX press release:
As the opening round of the 2015 MX Nationals gets underway at Horsham this weekend, the Wilson MX team will be out to prove that they will be doing more than just making up the numbers this year.
With Geran Stapleton and Luke Wilson leading the charge for the team, preparations leading into round one have been as good as it gets.
With a healthy mix of training, rest and racing leading into the series, both riders are looking forward to arriving in Horsham and getting the season off to a great start.
Geran Stapleton – MX2: “I had a decent build up which I guess you could say was relatively injury free. I went over to New Zealand and have had a couple of races there so I’m feeling like I have had a good lead up to the series.
“So far the move to Wilson MX has been awesome – Neil and Jason have been really good, the bike is good and I’m just really pumped on the bike.
“Horsham is not my favorite track but hopefully it gets really rutty and really rough which will suit me a little more. I’m sure though if it ruts up and prepares nicely it will be an awesome track.”
Luke Wilson – MX1: “I am feeling good – I have been feeling really good on the bike and just looking forward to getting out there and seeing how it all pans out at the first round so we can then move forward from there.
“I’ve had a good break which hasdefinitely made me feel better. I went to America in the offseason and got lucky enough to get the chance to ride over there so that definitely helped me out a little and I’m looking forward to seeing what that does for me over here.
“There are a few tracks up in Queensland that are similar to Horsham with it being rutty so I’m looking forward to it. I think it will suit me just fine.”
Neale Wilson – Team Manager: “We are all feeling really good. Everyone has had a great preparation, we are all feeling good, feeling healthy, and we are definitely ready to go.
“Last time we were at Horsham the conditions weren’t so great – the venue itself has a really good layout and as long as the conditions suit it will be a great place to race at.
“We don’t mind the travel as it is always great to get to different tracks. It is great to have three Queensland rounds, but we enjoy the travel and like getting to new tracks so it should be good.
“We are aiming for both boys to get into the top-10 this season, so we will see how we go at the opening round and take it from there.”
