Team Australian leader Chad Reed will work to move on from a frustrating 2014 FIM Motocross of Nations, now focused on the Anaheim 1 Monster Energy Supercross season opener to be held in January.

Reed battled to 14th in the opening moto at Kegums before being taken out off the start in his second outing, spelling an end to what was a disastrous weekend for the Aussies.

Now, Reed will holiday in Australia with family before returning to his base in the US ahead of the Monster Energy Cup event in Las Vegas on 18 October, but his real focus lies with A1 at Angel Stadium in the new year.

“It was a rough weekend,” Reed reflected. “I felt good in the training session, but it seemed like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time every time I went out to race.

“But I’ll put it behind me and now the focus will be on another successful supercross season.”

The 2014 running of MXoN could mark the last of Reed in the iconic event, expected to debrief with wife Ellie – also a major part of the TwoTwo Motorsports operation – during the short off-season.

Reed will rely on incoming teammate Josh Grant to perform much of the development work during October before he knuckles down upon return to the US next month.
