Last year's MX2 national number two assessing premier class options.
Current Tunetech Racing KTM rider Kale Makeham is targeting a step up to the MX1 ranks in 2015 following two positive seasons on board a 250 two-stroke in MX2.
Makeham made a name for himself last year by finishing second in the MX Nationals MX2 title chase, however the 2014 season was more difficult with a single podium on his way to sixth overall.
Currently recovering from a broken tailbone sustained at Coolum, Makeham will finish out the year in the SX2 category of Australian Supercross before transitioning to the premier class next year.
“I’m in talks with a couple of people, but there’s definitely nothing concrete,” Makeham told MotoOnline. “I’m really hoping I can get a 450 ride for next year – I think that’s the bike that suits me best and it’s where I want to go.
“Hopefully I can get a good ride and surround myself with good people in that class, but if not, I’m not scared to go back to buying my own bikes as a privateer. I look at a guy like Jacob Wright and it’s only a matter of time until a door opens for you. I think you’ll definitely see me in the 450 class, it’s just a matter of figuring out where.”
