American rising star departs Pro Circuit Kawasaki for KTM.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Team has announced it has signed Justin Hill to race the 2015 Western Regional 250 Supercross and 250 Class Pro Motocross championships.
In 2014 Hill landed on the podium five times in the West 250 SX West Coast series, winning at San Diego and the East/West shootout at Las Vegas.
Hill was sitting inside the top 10 in points in the 250 Class outdoors earlier this season before a shoulder injury sidelined him at Millville and forced him out of the remainder of the series.
“Obviously Justin’s improvement in the past year caught our eye,” explained team manager Roger De Coster. “We saw him take two wins in the Supercross series and saw a lot of potential in his outdoor results as well.
“We are excited to have him join our team this season and feel he will complement our other rider, Marvin Musquin, very well giving the Red Bull KTM Team a competitive rider on each coast in the Supercross series.”
Hill hails from the state of Oregon where he lived throughout his amateur motocross career. It was at a young age that Hill became recognised as an upcoming star after securing multiple amateur motocross titles, which led to a factory ride in his rookie season in 2013.
“I’m really happy to get the opportunity to join the Red Bull KTM Factory Team and work with team manager Roger De Coster,” Hill said. “I’ve always been a big fan of Roger and what he has accomplished throughout his career. I’m looking at this as a fresh start with an exciting brand and an opportunity to join a race-focused company which is a perfect fit for me.”
With Hill and Musquin leading the team’s 250 charge, it’s expected Dean Wilson will be confirmed alongside Ryan Dungey in the 450 program.
