Verdict:
While Matt Moss was simply too strong and now equipped with 2015 Showa SFF-AIR TAC forks, the real story was that he took full advantage of a mixed day for Kirk Gibbs and exited the round with a 40-point advantage. Moss charged all the long for Team Motul Suzuki and will now be very, very difficult to beat for the title. Jacob Wright was phenomenal in his second appearance for CDR Yamaha, scoring the Super Pole and then starring in all three motos. In that final moto which he won by over 10 seconds, he looked in control, confident and really comfortable in the lead. It was one of the season’s best performances and one that will go a long way to securing him a ride in 2015. Billy Mackenzie was solid all day aside from some costly mistakes, but he completed a great day for the team. Jake Moss was better than his 11th overall, but a mechanical in moto one forced him down the order. Of note were also the results of Hayden Mellross, Sam Martin, Jesse Dobson and 300cc two-stroke mounted Joel Milesevic inside the top 10. All in all, it was a technical track, difficult to pass on for the most part, and it sprung some real surprises.

Verdict:
It was a mixture of riders contending up front all day in MX2, resulting in three separate moto winners. Hamish Dobbyn stunned with his moto one win, Luke Arbon’s second moto win was all class, and Luke Clout’s final moto was a nice way to bounce back after suffering from bike troubles in the opening motos. Jay Wilson used relative consistency to nab a podium as first of the four-strokes overall, which came in good timing with NZ team boss Josh Coppins watching on. A number of other riders to shine on Sunday included Blake Lilly with sixth overall, as well as Riley Graham, Luke Reardon and the returning Luke Davis. There’s a real spread of talent – and machinery – in MX2 right now and it makes for quality racing any time they hit the track.
