Honda Motorcycles has announced Craig Lowndes as a new brand ambassador. Australia’s most popular and successful racing driver, Lowndes is a long-time motorcycle enthusiast, riding regularly for both training and recreation.

Honda’s newest ambassador now has a Honda CBR1000RR to ride on the road and a Honda CRF450 dirt bike for mid-week training sessions.

“We’re delighted to welcome Craig into the Honda family and we are proud that he has chosen Honda as his brand of choice,” Honda Australia Motorcycles national manager, marketing, Glyn Griffiths said.

“Craig has a genuine passion for motorcycling and, as a person and professional athlete, he is a great fit to represent our brand. Everyone at Honda Motorcycles is looking forward to working with Craig and we are thrilled that he has chosen to represent us.”

Lowndes will also attend the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island in October this year as a guest of Honda.

“Aligning myself with Honda, the biggest motorcycle brand in Australia, is a tremendous opportunity and I am excited about what we can do together,” Lowndes said.

Along with holding the record for the most V8 Supercar championship race wins in history, Lowndes is also a five-time winner of the Bathurst 1000, a three-time Australian champion and the winner of this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour international GT race.

Now domiciled in Queensland, the former Victorian was recognised with an OAM in 2012 for his services to the community through road safety and his accomplishments in his sport, and he is also a four-time winner of Barry Sheene medal; V8 Supercar’s ‘best and fairest’ award.

Lowndes joins fellow V8 Supercar driver Rick Kelly as a Honda ambassador.
