American veteran to line up this weekend in Western Australia.
American Nick Wey has become a late inclusion for this weekend’s Manjimup 15,000 in Western Australia, currently en route from the US to Australia.
Wey, 33, is coming off a strong Monster Energy Supercross season, finishing 15th in the standings on his Team Mafia Moto Crew Kawasaki with best finishes of 11th at both St. Louis and Houston.
During his career Wey has held down factory-supported rides with Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM and Kawasaki, finishing a career-best of fourth in the 2004 SX season and sixth outdoors in 2008.
The addition of Wey at Manjimup adds to an all-star line up of riders, which will include Ben Townley, American guests Brett Cue and AJ Catanzaro, plus confirmed Aussies Kirk Gibbs, Ford Dale, Kade Mosig, Jay Marmont, Jake Moss and Luke Arbon.
The Manjimup 15,000 features a unique format of four five-lap motos, plus an elimination shootout which consists of five single-lap dashes, leaving only three riders in the final to fight for the $2000 prize money.
