Australian MX2 Motocross Champion Luke Styke is targeting improved results as experience builds in the MX2 World Championship after finishing 19th overall at Valkenswaard in The Netherlands on Sunday.

The KEMEA Yamaha Racing Team rider qualified 15th and went on to score 17-15 results in the motos, resulting in 18th overall for the weekend.

“This was one though race,” Styke said. “For sure the roughest track I’ve ridden so far this year. Once again I learned a lot this weekend. Problem is there are so many things to learn for me this year.

“I hoped for myself to adapt to everything a little faster, but clearly that’s not the way it’s going. I feel improvement every week though, both physically and racing wise.

“The results just don’t show it yet, so the main focus to improve those, and therefor I will need to work on my starts too.”

Styke’s now ranked 19th in the world championship standings, the next round to take place at Talaveira de la Reina in Spain on 10-11 May.
