Aussie rookie targets top 10 results as supercross experience builds.
An 11th place finish at the Anaheim 2 round of Monster Energy Supercross series has Australian rookie Dean Ferris determined to progress in the coming rounds.
Ferris, who finished 14th on debut at Anaheim 1 and a solid seventh in Phoenix a week later, suffered a minor setback at A2 after he was caught up in an incident with Malcolm Stewart during the early laps.
It was another weekend of learning for the grand prix winner in his first American season with Red Bull KTM, and he’s set a realistic target of finishing inside the top 10 when the series continues in Oakland this weekend.
“It’s unfortunate that I crashed tonight,” commented Ferris after soldiering on to 11th. “I was hoping to improve upon last week’s performance, but my crash set me back.
“Having a poor result just motivates you to try harder each week. I will work even harder this week to be inside the top 10 at the next round in Oakland.”
With the result, Ferris now sits ninth in the championship with six rounds remaining.
