Red Bull KTM’s Dean Ferris was a big improver during round two of Monster Energy Supercross at Chase Field in Phoenix on Saturday night, racing to his first top 10 finish in the West Coast 250SX division.

Ferris made a late transfer to America for 2014 after starring at the Motocross of Nations for Team Australia, building experience in a no-pressure role with the factory KTM effort.

Despite a heavy first turn fall in his heat race, Ferris impressed by clawing his way back to a ninth place transfer position, and then used consistency to credit seventh in the main event.

“I am very happy to earn a top 10 finish tonight,” commented Ferris. “I’m new to supercross, so each week during practice and racing I am learning a lot and making improvements.

“I am glad to get a better finish for my team this weekend and hope I can continue to work toward a top five result.”

With his result, Ferris has now worked his way up to 10th in the standings following two of nine rounds.
