FCAI releases Australian motorcycle sales figures.
Yamaha was the top-selling off-road brand in 2013, sales figures released by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) have revealed.
With 11,553 off-road sales, Yamaha sold more than 29 percent of the total 39,013 off-road bikes sold in Australia last year, followed by Honda’s 10,317 sales.
Third highest seller was KTM in a stellar year for the brand, selling 6211 bikes, while Suzuki sold 4660 bikes. Kawasaki completed the top five in sales, with 3716 bikes sold. Husqvarna registered 1674 sales, Husaberg 734.
The 39,013 off-road bike sales total is a three percent increase on 2012 off-road bike sales of 37,836.
Overall, Honda was the highest-selling motorcycle, ATV and scooter brand across all segments, with a total of 25,432 sales. Yamaha sold 20,087 models combined last year, with Kawasaki selling 11,683 and Suzuki 10,818.
The 113,289 total 2013 sales figure is 2.2 percent lower than the 2012 sales result of 115,837.
