American transition confirmed for Australia's latest international contender.
KTM Motorsports has announced that Aussie Dean Ferris will ride for the Red Bull KTM team in American supercross and motocross alongside Ryan Dungey, Ken Roczen and Marvin Musquin.
Ferris, 23, has been linked to the Red Bull KTM team in the US for the past month after starring at the 2013 edition of the FIM Motocross of Nations (click here for initial report).
Despite originally being announced to be remaining with Dixon Yamaha in MXGP for 2014, Ferris will now relocate to California for his maiden American campaign.
He will contest the West Coast Supercross Lites series, followed by the American 250 Motocross Championship aboard the KTM 250 SX-F.
“It’s always been my dream to race in the US and I’m really excited about being given this opportunity with Red Bull KTM,” Ferris beamed. “I’m especially excited about getting the chance to learn from Roger DeCoster and work alongside Dungey, Roczen and Musquin.
“I have a lot of learning to do so I couldn’t ask for a better, more experienced group to guide me through my transition into the US racing circuit.”
Ferris is already in the US and will make his official debut with the team in a month’s time at Anaheim 1 on 4 January 2014.
