American Josh Hill will return home in the lead-up to the final round of the Terex Australian Supercross Championships in order to test for the 2014 season.

The Hart & Huntington/InsureMyRide Suzuki rider took over the ASX lead at Phillip Island last weekend, turning a 10-point deficit into a five-point advantage during the double-header rounds.

After finishing second on Saturday, Hill dominated proceedings on Sunday in a convincing effort aboard the Pro Circuit-equipped RM-Z450.

“I am feeling great,” Hill beamed. “It was definitely a pretty good weekend. I came into this event 10 points down and now I am leaving five points ahead.

“We turned things around in Mount Gambier and I certainly haven’t slacked off, I have been preparing really hard for this round. I really wanted to get out and dominate this weekend.

“I have to go back to the States for some testing, but I can’t wait to get back and I think it will be a good battle for the title in Toowoomba.”

Toowoomba’s season final will take place in Queensland on Saturday, 16 November.
