Victorian BCP Fox Honda rider Tim Vare is looking to build from a stellar top 10 result achieved at Darwin’s Terex Australian Supercross Championship season opener.

The 23-year-old from Sale in Victoria’s Gippsland region rode consistently well over the two days of racing, mixing it up the factory stars while netting himself terrific points going into round three of the championship.

“It was super hot conditions up here in Darwin with everyone feeling the heat but I had a ball out there,” said Vare.

“The bike was running awesome and I felt comfortable on the track. I just need to work a bit on my intensity and my ‘on bike’ fitness going into round three.

“I’d like to thank my mechanic at the event Ryan Mitchell, Lee Hogan for all his help, the Gibbs and Bodey families for their hospitality in Darwin and BCP Fox Honda for the opportunity. Also a huge thank you to IEG for getting our bikes up to the event.”

Vare was 12th in round one and 10th in the second, slotting him into 10th position in the standings after two of six rounds.

Round three of the Terex Australian Supercross Championship heads next to Mount Gambier on Saturday, 12 October.
