Victorian Cheyne Boyd and Craig Anderson’s Berry Sweet/Lucas Oil Yamaha team have officially parted ways following last weekend’s final round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals at Coolum.

Boyd joined the team mid-season following the shock retirement of Tye Simmonds, however plans for Boyd to continue to with Anderson’s Yamaha squad into Australian Supercross were halted following Toowoomba’s penultimate outdoor round.

“The plan was to do Supercross with Ando, but obviously now that’s not happening,” Boyd told MotoOnline.com.au. “That only came about after Toowoomba, so right now I wanted to get last weekend out of the way.

“I will be going back to what I was doing before the deal with Ando came up, if noone’s willing to pay. Hopefully I will get a manufacturer sponsor, work and do what I had been doing earlier this year in selected races.”

Boyd’s initial plans to contest the entire Supercross season have been shelved at this point as he scrambles to piece a program together at the 11th hour.

“It’d say I will be sitting out Darwin at this point, which is disappointing,” he added. “Realistically I don’t have enough time to get a new bike sorted and me up to speed in Supercross. I’m aiming for rounds three through six.”

Anderson was yet to confirm a replacement when contacted by MotoOnline.com.au on Monday afternoon.
