Yamaha rider Jeremy Medaglia carded 1-2 moto finishes to take the MX1 victory at round seven of the Canadian Monster Energy Motocross Nationals at Circuit Deschambault in Deschambault, Quebec.
Medaglia won the opening moto from Kawasaki riders Teddy Maier and Australia’s Brett Metcalfe, the runaway championship leader.
Metcalfe returned serve in the second moto to take the win, securing second overall behind Medaglia with Maier holding down third.
Another strong haul of points has Metcalfe now 74 clear of Bobby Kiniry, who lost ground at Deschambault with 6-5 finishes.
In the MX2 class Clark recorded his first national win with 2-2 scores, with Tyler Villopoto running second on 1-7 finishes.
Honda’s Blake Savage claimed the final podium placing with 4-4 results, making for an American clean sweep of the podium.
Points leader Austin Politelli finished outside of the top 10 with 21-8 results seeing him to a lean 15th overall.
Politelli now has just five points separating himself and the hard-charging Clark with two rounds left to run.
