Buildbase Honda has announced that Brad Anderson will be joining the team to compete in both the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship and the Red Bull Pro Nationals alongside current rider Nico Aubin.

With two British Championship titles to his name from 2009 and 2011 – both won aboard Honda machinery – Anderson is the perfect choice to occupy the second Buildbase Honda CRF450R for the remainder of the season and for 2014.

The move comes in a bid to create strong and solid foundations in the team as they close the 2013 season out and start preparations for next year.

Earlier this week, the LPE Kawasaki team that Anderson opened the season with announced a mutual split with Anderson for the remainder of 2013.

“It’s great to be back riding a Honda again as it’s a bike that I know well,” Anderson said. “I’m also very pleased that Dave Thorpe has shown faith in me to offer a deal for next season.

“Hopefully over the forthcoming events I will be able to battle for podium finishes which I know I’m capable of.

Team manager Dave Thorpe welcomed Anderson to the team – an opportunity he says what too good to pass up.

“The chance to sign a high profile rider such as Brad Anderson was too good to pass up,” Thorpe added. “In the past, Brad is a proven race winner on Honda machinery and he has shown this year that he still has the pace and determination to win at the highest level.

Anderson’s first outing on the Buildbase Honda CRF450R will be at the fifth round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals alongside team-mate Aubin at Canada Heights in Kent on the 3-4 August.

Last season Anderson was aboard a Carlton Dry Honda CRF450R in Australia, which was the talented Brit’s lone season in the MX Nationals. His highlight was a win at the Wonthaggi round.
