Australia’s Brett Metcalfe earned himself another win in the 2013 Monster Energy Canadian Motocross Championships at Gopher Dunes in Ontario.
The Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki rider took a convincing 1-1 premier class sweep on return from a three week series break where he made an appearance at Southwick’s Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship round.
Taking the runner-up spot on the podium was Yamaha mounted Kyle Keast. Keast used a 5-2 moto score to edge out KTM’s Tyler Medaglia who was third overall with a 2-5 moto scorecard.
AMA Motocross and Supercross regular Bobby Kiniry was fourth overall aboard his Yamaha with a 7-3 result followed by privateer Honda rider Mike Sottile in fifth.
Metcalfe continues to lead the premier class points chase, holding a commanding 60-point lead over Tyler Medaglia in second followed by Kiniry in third.
In the MX2 category is was AMA Supercross regular Topher Ingalls who earned himself the overall win at Gopher Dunes aboard his RTR Performance Honda.
Ingalls used 1-2 moto finishes to earn his first overall win of the season ahead of KTM’s Jesse Wentland who scored the runner-up spot using a 3-1 moto score.
Third overall was Yamaha-mounted Dylan Wright with 5-3 moto scores followed by Josh Clark with 6-4 scores and Jared Alison rounding out the top five with an 8-7 moto scorecard.
Current series leader Austin Politelli was 11th overall after experiencing moto two issues and scoring 2-29 scorecard. Ingalls sits second overall in points followed by Josh Clark.
The 2013 Monster Energy Canadian Motocross Championships head to Sand Del Lee on 21 July for round six.
