Ryan Marmont has announced that he has taken ownership of MXR&D, formerly owned by JDR Motorsports owner Derek Rynenberg.

Marmont confirmed the news with MotoOnline.com.au this week and has big plans in store for the established company currently based in Western Sydney.

The Raceline Pirelli Suzuki MX2 contender will continue on with his regular racing duties and plans to relocate the business to his hometown of Wollongong.

“I’ve become the new owner of MXR&D that Derek Rynenberg owned,” Marmont told MotoOnline.com.au. “My racing is still going to go ahead as planned for Motocross and Supercross with Raceline, but this is just something I’m taking over and relocating it down to Wollongong.

“We will have new staff, new ownership and I’ll be putting my own spin onto MXR&D. Because it’s already established it has saved me a lot of work, so all it’s going to be is just a relocation for now and I’ll have the business so I’m floating in and out of it while I continue on with racing.”

Marmont will maintain focus on his racing career as he slowly integrates his own ideas into the MXR&D brand which will serve as a second career after Motocross.

“I’m still putting my heart and soul into racing at the moment, but I want to have something for the day when I do finish Motocross and Supercross,” added Marmont. “I want to have something established and give back to the general public and the moto related people.”

MXR&D offers a range of services including a large range of retail products, motorcycle parts and a variation of workshop services.

“We’ve got a retail side of the business where we sell a lot of the top clothing brands, and we also stock a majority of parts for any bike and what we don’t have we can order in,” Marmont explained. “We’ve also got a big workshop facility where we concentrate on the racing side of things and the junior side.

“We’re going to keep that going and then also push into the bigger stuff – 450s, 250s, 125s and senior racing. Also we’ll be doing general public wear and tear service work on the bikes.”

Marmont is excited to kick off this new venture and looks forward to offering a top notch service to locally and Australia-wide.

“The future is looking big for MXR&D and also myself,” he added. “It’s been something that me and my wife Chelsea have put a lot of thought into and with the Rynenberg family they’ve definitely made that happen for me.

“So I definitely can’t wait to get this up and running to give Wollongong and the rest of Australia what it needs.”

JDR Motorsports has remained a personal sponsor of Marmonts during the 2013 season.
