The Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) returns this weekend for rounds seven and eight of the series in South Australia’s Coonawarra region, 380 kilometres south-east of Adelaide.

The all-new venue combined with the only back-to-back sprint racing format of the season will provide interesting new challenges and opportunities for the cream of Australia’s off-road racing talent.

Leading the charge Outright into South Australia is CDR Yamaha Off-Road’s Daniel Milner. Milner currently holds a 10-point lead over Motorex KTM Off Road Racing’s Chris Hollis in second place.

Sitting third overall in the Outright championship after six rounds is Active8 Yamaha Yamalube Racing Team’s Josh Green. Green sits six-points behind Hollis in the championship chase.

In the E1 category it’s Milner once again who leads the chase. Milner carries a 28-point lead into rounds seven and eight with Husqvarna’s Glenn Kearney holding down the runner-up spot.

Active8 Yamaha Yamalube Racing Team’s Tom McCormack currently rounds out the E1 top three in the overall standings with an 11-point gap separating himself and Kearney.

Third overall Outright rider Green currently leads the E2 class aboard his Yamaha. Green is followed closely by Motorex KTM Off Road Racing’s Hollis who sits just five points back.

Husaberg’s Jarrod Bewley holds down third overall in the E2 championship, sitting 14 points behind Hollis heading into the South Australian event.

Carrying the E3 championship lead into this weekend’s event is Motorex KTM Off Road Racing’s Geoff Braico. The recent addition to the team holds just a one-point lead over second place.

Holding down that second place position is Yamaha-mounted Stefan Granquist. Granquist is followed by the injured Toby Price who will sit out the remaining rounds with a serious neck injury.

Racing kicks off this weekend in South Australia on Saturday, 29 June. Stay tuned to MotoOnline.com.au for updates and results from the event.
