Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has extended reigning MX2 FIM Motocross World Champion Jeffrey Herlings’ contract for another two years.
Herlings, one of the brightest young talents in the sport, has been a successful part of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team since he was old enough to qualify for the senior international racing competition.
In 2013 Herlings has proved to be virtually unbeatable on all terrain. He has won every Grand Prix so far this season, losing only a single moto to have an impressive current 17-1 scorecard.
Pit Beirer, head of KTM Motorsports, looks forward to seeing Herlings continue to develop and mature under the guidance of the factory KTM crew.
“Jeffrey is a rider that was spotted by us at a very early age and has benefited from the experience and guidance of Stefan Everts,” said Beirer. “He is still young but has already shown everyone involved in our sport that his talent is indisputable.
“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to extend our agreement with him as he continues to develop and mature as a rider under the guidance of our factory team.”
With the recent changes in the FIM Motocross World Championship regulations, Herlings will now be eligible to defend continue on in the MX2 class with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.
