With 12 hours of coverage on SPEED WEEK, SBS, free-to-air TV, fans will now have the opportunity to watch the event from Australia, United Kingdom, Europe and South East Asia.
Defending Australian Supercross Champion Jay Marmont believes SPEED WEEK, SBS will put together great coverage of the events and looks forward to the partnership for the upcoming series.
“It is fantastic that people can now watch our races on free to air,” Marmont said. “SPEED WEEK, SBS is renowned for its sports coverage, this is a great media partnership for Supercross.
“I am also excited that our series will now be shown internationally in the United Kingdom, Europe and South East Asia.”
Marmont is ready to defend his Pro Open title in front of an international crowd in when the series kicks off in September.
“We are just three months out from the start of the Supercross Championship and I am looking forward to defending my title,” he added.
Bopping , already impressed with last year’s four-round series, feels that this all-new six-round televised series is definitely a step in the right direction.
“Last years championship was fantastic, especially as it all came together so late,” Bopping said. “The series is definitely growing, which is great for everyone, we have six rounds this year and now a free-to-air television package that will broadcast our races in full.
“From a riders perspective the international coverage is also invaluable as it showcases our series and achievements to other promoters and championships across the globe.”
The opening round of the Australian Supercross Championship will be held at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway on 12-15 September.
