Troy Lee Designs – Maxima Zero Seven Motorsports Kawasaki’s Kade Mosig is back on the bike and ready to get amongst Monster Energy MX Nationals MX2 action.

Following the Wonthaggi crash that left him with a fractured vertebra in his back, Mosig made a quick recovery and will put the injury behind him in a bid to push forth for the remaining five rounds.

After slotting in some quick shoulder surgery while his back healed, the Victorian is back to riding and training at full capacity within six weeks of the accident.

“It’s good to be back that’s for sure, it’s good to be back riding and training at full capacity, doing everything that I want to do,” Mosig told MotoOnline.com.au.

“The Wonthaggi crash was one of those things that happens with racing, but I guess I came out of it pretty lucky. It could have been a lot worse.

“I’m just moving forward from that, putting it behind me. I had a fractured vertebra in my back, so I had to let that heal for a few weeks.

“I opted to get some small shoulder surgery, nothing to major, just an arthroscope that I had booked in for just after Conondale. So I had it moved forward, got that done and just let the body heal up for a few weeks.”

Mosig recently contested round two of the Victorian Motocross titles at Swan Hill to get some seat time at the same venue which will also host round eight of the MX Nationals series.

“I had about five and a half weeks off since Wonthaggi,” he explained. “I got back on and rode a couple of days at home before heading up to Swan Hill to get some riding in on the track and just use it as bike time.

“We had two 30-minute motos on each bike. Saturday was good on the 250, I won both my races and I was kind of suprised because I hadn’t done a 30-minute moto in probably six or seven weeks.

“My fitness felt really good, it didn’t feel like I’d had much time off the bike at all, I felt kind of fresh, so that was good.”

The MX2 regular also jumped aboard a 450 in the MX1 class where he finished runner-up to Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Adam Monea in both motos.

On Sunday I raced the 450 and got a couple of seconds to Monea and had a couple of good battles with Jacob Wright and Sam Martin,” Mosig said.

“So it was just a good fun weekend of racing to get back into it for me and now I’m just trying to get as much riding in as I can before Appin wher I’ll return back to racing, I miss being on the race track that’s for sure.”

Mosig is eager to race and feels that he will be 100 percent when the MX National resume at Appin in New South Wales on 14 July.

“Coming back at Appin I’m just going to go out there and race like I know how to race,” he added. “I definitely think I’ll be prepared to race. I’ll be feeling 100 percent in three weeks time and I’m pretty excited to get out on the race track and get amongst it.”
