Australia’s Joel Milesevic is aiming for improved results as he heads to the third round of the 2013 European Motocross Championships in Sweden on 30 June.

The Diga Racing rider earned his first championship points at round two in Ernee, France, adding fuel to the fire as the Victorian prepares to raise the bar once again.

62 of Europe’s best Motocross riders converged on the Ernee circuit for round two, and after a challenging first round in Portugal, the EMX 250 class contender was aware that he had to step up his game.

“Round two was definitely a lot better for me,” said Milesevic. “I qualified 13th in my group and 25th out of the entire field. It was a good start to the weekend.

“On Sunday I had a bit of an average start which I wasn’t too happy about. I was about 26th coming out of the first corner. In two laps, I worked my way up into about 18th.

“With three laps to go, I moved into 14th, then a lap later into 13th. I was catching 12th but ran out of time.”

The 17-year-old earned a valuable eight championship points with his round two result and plans to carry his momentum into round three at Uddevalla.

“I was happy with my result and the team was too,” he added. “We have been working hard and it paid off and I hope that there are more of these results to come.

“For round three, my goal is to keep improving. Keep improving my fitness, my speed and my starts, especially because it’s difficult working your way through the pack.

“My main goal for the whole series is to improve from every previous round in any way possible to help me in the championship.”
