Brenden Harrison is back on the bike and feeling great following an extended amount of time spent on the sidelines due to a string of complicated injuries.

After undergoing multiple surgeries and spending endless hours on the couch recovering, the Queenslander has finally kicked-off his comeback with around two weeks of seat time under his belt so far.

Although the 23-year-old feels strong thanks to his intense off-bike training, he is taking a smart approach and easing back into his regular routine at his own pace.

“It’s awesome to be back on the bike,” said Harrison. “I’ve probably been back on the bike now for about two weeks. KTM sent me a bike last week, so it’s been awesome.

“I already feel pretty good on the bike, I feel pretty strong because I’ve been doing heaps of training anyway. Everything’s gone good, I don’t want to rush anything and I’m just kind of coming back in my own time.

“My leg probably feels around 85-90 percent, which is probably 15 percent better than last year when I raced.

“I’m giving everything really good time this time around so I know that everything is 150 percent by the time I race. So it should be good.”

After shutting down their team for 2013, JDR Motorsports will support Harrison for the remainder of the year while KTM Australia will supply him with his bikes and parts.

“Jeff Leisk from KTM has supplied me with everything, they’ve been a massive help,” he explained. “They’ve always been behind me so I can’t thank them enough.

“JDR is still really behind me aswell, so I can’t thank them enough. They’re just such great people and they’re there to fully support me until the end of the season.”

Harrison admits that he just wants to ride at this point and isn’t too worried about his future plans at this stage. In saying that, a possible 2013 Supercross return is on the agenda.

“I haven’t really got anything sorted and I’m not too stressed at the moment – I just want to ride my bike,” he added. “Definitely 100 percent, Supercross is what I’m going for, other than that I’ll just take it as it comes.

“I might throw a race in here and there, but I won’t come back until I feel 100 percent and get race practice in. But Supercross is definitely where it’s heading.”
